Jorilla

Sean Delaney wrote a really cool script called Night of the Jorilla. I just got finished reading it and was inspired to doodle these up.

Otis Frampton

So I bought my first ever commissioned sketch card. People collect all types of cards. Some get a variety of different characters, and others settle on a specific topic. I chose me and the duck. I figured it would be kind of cool to get interpretations by some of my favorite artists.
Otis Frampton was the first one I chose. He is one of two of the biggest influences in my sketch card work. The way he envisions characters on a small canvas is unmatched and so unique. It's no wonder that he is so darned popular in the sketch card biz.
It is also worth noting that he knows when to quit. He's recently removed himself from the sketch card biz to pursue other areas of his art, (Including his book Oddly Normal)
In true passion fashion, he got to dabble in some of his favorite characters (his last crusade being with Marvel Masterpieces 2) and accomplished that, and is moving on. Very admireable and impressive.
Either way here is Otis Frampton's wonderful interpretation of Locoduck Studios.

You can see more of Otis's awesome work on his blog. Hos link is at the top of my food chain on the right. Thanks again Otis, for the card and the inspiration.
If anyone else wants to try their hand, I'll post it here. You can email me the image, and ultimately I would love to display the original in my studio.

Recent Cards

Here are a few I just mailed out a few days ago. I finally saw ALL the Harry Potter movies, and after years of saying they didn't seem interesting to me.......I'm hooked.

Lights out

Ya know I forget sometimes how much I adore electricity. Orlando has been having some crazy rain weather lately, almost as if we were in the middle of Hurricane season. I worked Animal Kingdom all day yesterday and by the end of it, we were soggy bottomed as all get out. The rain never helps sales either, unless you work an indoor location.
But around 7:30 pm i got a phone call from home notifying me that we had lost power. I called Progress Energy and they said it would be back on around 9:30 pm.
Needless to say, it came back on at 7:45 am this morning.
I got a good night sleep for a change, but there wasn't much to do. No light to draw or read by, no tv, no computer, no internet.
I managed to play a few games on my laptop before it ran out of charge, but other than that, it was a long and uneventful night.

Anyway, here are a few caricatures I drew during the day at AK, along with a couple from other shifts. I don't take too many Caricature photos anymore as to not be repetitious. But every once in a while I get to do something non conformist.
Like the gay couple who wanted to be a Jungle King and explorer, the Whale boy, the Yeti, the jedi, and I just liked the Dinosaur on the dino boy.

I'll post some of my butt sketches in a few days.

Is it me? Or is it the Duck?

Took one of these tests. I think it's fairly accurate....except the part about not having a job. Anyone else agree? Disagree? Give a crap?

Your Score: the Shock Jock

(52% dark, 57% spontaneous, 42% vulgar)

your humor style:
VULGAR | SPONTANEOUS | DARK

Your sense of humor is off-the-cuff and kind of gross. Is it is also
sinister, cynical, and vaguely threatening to the purer folks of this
world. You probably get off on that. You would cut a greasy fart, then blame it on your mom, and then just shrug when someone pointed out that she's dead.

Yours is hands-down the most outrageous sense of humor; you like things
trangressive and hardcore. It's highly likely (a) you have no limits (b) you have no scruples and (c) you have no job. Ironically, it's your type of humor that can make the biggest bucks in show business.
